Our Statement

To create inclusive, safe, and celebratory spaces for the LGBTQ+ community and allies through,

events, education and outreach on the Isle of Man Vision – An Isle of Man where diversity is

embraced, equality is the norm and love has no limits.

Isle of Pride has run a town hall event to update the LGBTQ+ community and allies of

what work we are currently undertaking. We have setup communication channels with

Manx Care and the Isle of Man Constabulary. With Manx Care we have been working

on getting a Trans healthcare pathway across the line, This is still working progress

but has taken some big steps forward close to the line. We recently put on a Pride

Film Festival in association with Michelle Haywood MHK and supported by the

Isle of Man Arts Council. This was to bring the community together and create a

safe space environment.

Tynwald day 2026 we had a stall on the Fairfield where we sold merchandise and had a

small display highlighting Alan Shea’s petition of grievance in 1991. At the end of July

2026 we are hosting a pride week. This is a week filled with smaller events to replace a

large scale one of pride event. We did look into a large-scale pride event but sadly costs

were too prohibitive for this year. Pride week has two flagship events on Sunday 26th

July in the Promenade Suite we are hosting 2 time Winter Olympic silver medalist

Bruce Mouat for an evening with. Which is kindly supported by the Zurich International

Isle of Man Pride Committee.

On Saturday 1st August we are hosting a pride picnic at Government House which will

be a safe space for members of the Isle of Man LGBTQ+ community, allies and family to

attend and relax. This day will also include live music and stalls, attendees will also be able

to bring their own picnic.

Away from events we launched the pride pledge ahead of the Isle of Man 2026

General Election. Where we are asking candidates to sign up to 5 pledges that will

we support the LGBTQ+ community going forward.

Once a new government administration is in place we will look to expand our outreach work,

and speak with DESC about going to the Islands Secondary schools. We will also officially

launch our training program which we have soft launched with the help of Manx Care and

their student nurses. We will also look to start the work on our safe spaces project, which will

indicate to members of the LGBTQ+ community that a business or organisation is a safe

welcoming space for them. A lot of these events will need some sort of financial support as

well as volunteer time. Once we have a better understanding of what we need we will reach

out local businesses and Manx lottery trust for grants.

We are also starting to lay the foundations for the return of a large scale pride event with

discussions already taking place with a large corporate business for main sponsorship.

We are looking to support members of the local LGBTQ+ community making the

island a where diversity is embraced, equality is the norm and love has no limits.
